The new Bionic Woman TV Series

New Bionic Woman 1Michelle Ryan set to be the new Bionic Woman

When I first saw this, I thought to myself, Bionic Woman, what about the Six Million Dollar Man? For those of you who are not aware, the Six Million Dollar Man was a wildly successful tv series back in the 70s. I was a huge fan when I was a kid. The Bionic Woman was a spinoff from that show, and only lasted two years.

As I read through the article what they have basically done is bring back the Six Million Dollar Man, but make him a woman. The Six Million Dollar Man was a secret agent of the OSI and was a bit of the 70s version of Alias. He had two bionic legs one bionic arm and a bionic eye. The Bionic Woman, from the 70s, had the same, except the bionic eye was a bionic ear.

“In these new shots from the pilot of the show, Ryan can be seen waking up with her new legs after the accident that put her in hospital. She also receives a bionic eye and a bionic arm.”

“In stills from the show Ryan can be seen leaping from tall buildings, and engaging in martial arts style fighting in the driving rain”

So what is wrong now days with a male action star? I mean do not get me wrong I very much enjoy hot woman kicking butt. I can think of several off the top of my head: Jennifer Garner in Alias, Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil movies, etc. But to turn the Six Million Dollar Man into a woman, come on — that is just wrong!

However, everything being said, I probably will watch it. Maybe they will give her a red jumpsuit and have her run in slow motion with sound effects at least once for the Six Million Dollar Man faithful. One can dream… ;-)

LOST Theory

LOST LogoIf you are a LOST fan, you obviously have been trying to figure out what is going on and where things are going on the show. If you are not, then you are probably not a fan of the show. Or you think the writers are simply just throwing out random ideas and that none of it is really all connected.

Well, I saw this LOST theory on digg (Best LOST Theory). The link was a 404 error, but one of the comments had the following theory in it.

Warning: this could be considered a spoiler.   So, view at your own risk.

RedHat Stands on Principles - Unlike Novell

RedHat LogoRed Hat demands open standards in Microsoft deal - 10 May 2007 - Computing.co.uk

Once again I am proud to own stock in RedHat. Unlike Novell, who caved in their dealings with Microsoft, RedHat refuses to sign an interoperability agreement with Microsoft unless it is based on open standards.

“Interoperability done on closed APIs isn’t interoperability,” Paul Cormier, RedHat Executive VP of Engineering said. “We’ll never do interoperability based on closed APIs.”

Microsoft has had ongoing talk with RedHat since February 2007. (Microsoft courts RedHat)

Microsoft has already signed interoperability agreements with long-time
enemies, such as last year’s partnership with Novell and the 2004 truce with Sun Microsystems.

It is nice to see a company stand on it principles every now and then.
