After reading a post on Puken Luken’s blog this morning, Senate gets on its knees to pay their debts to Big Pharma Pimps, I was motivated to checkout which Senators sponsored this bill.

Amendment Purpose: To protect the health and safety of the public.
OMG, read the amendment purpose. This is such a joke. Purpose: Protect American Drug Companies profits. I mean, please, it is not like we are asking to buy drugs from some out of the way third or fourth world nation that no one has ever heard of.
The vote neutralized a second amendment, later passed on a voice vote, that would legalize the importation of prescription drugs manufactured in Canada, Australia, Europe, Japan and New Zealand. (Senate Votes Blocks Imported Drugs)
Yeah, people are dying right and left in these countries. In fact, the citizens are the above countries are generally consider in much better health that Americans.

When I saw that my own Senator, Richard Burr, co-sponsored this bill, well I reckon that means he is making sure he kisses GlaxoSmith-Kliene and Merck’s ass.
It really bothers me that this was done under the guise of protecting the American public, and even states this in the amendment purpose — and so blatantly obvious that it is a complete and utter lie.
Sen. Mike Enzi, a Wyoming Republican, said the requirement for a safety certification was essential to protect the public.
Senator Mike Enzi is the citizens of Wyoming’s issue, but Senator Richard Burr is the responsibility of the citizens of North Carolina.
If this bothers you at all, I encourage you to write Senator Burr to express your opposition to his sponsorship of this Senate bill. Ask him to support the following bill S.242:
