‘Golden Compass’ incenses both Christians and atheists

‘Golden Compass’ incenses both Christians and atheists

Ok, as Puken Luken stated to me earlier today, any movie that gets this many people upset, I gotta see.

It amazes me when religious folks or other groups with ideologies complain about movies and such, and then say to never see then.  If your religion, faith or ideology cannot stand up to a little scrutiny and a couple of questions, then maybe it is not as strong as one thought in the first place.  Good ideas, faiths and ideologies are the ones that can stand up to the strongest scrutiny, questions and challenges.  To me, it speaks volumes about the strength of the religion, if they fear one movie or book.

Asian Space Race

It would seem from the article (First Moon Picture Back from China’s Chang’e Probe) that everybody in Asia is in a space race.

Already, an Asian space race is well in gear, with Japan’s moon probe a
few weeks ahead of Chang’e in lunar orbit, an Indian probe planned, and
a South Korean lunar exploration project announced just last week.

So when we all going to come together under one multi-national space agency and invent warp drive?

NFL eyeing team in Toronto? CFL boss thinks so

It is about time the NFL decided to do something about the crappy Buffalo Bills.  Indeed, move them to Toronto, but please, oh please change the name. Leave the ‘Bills’ in Buffalo.  in my opinion, any team that looses four SuperBowls needs to be dis-franchised anyhow.

justisengard dugg this:

CFL commissioner Mark Cohon believes all signs point to an NFL team being placed in Toronto. It’s the first time the league has taken such a definitive stance on the subject…

iPhone Lawsuit - Finally!

iPhone Lawsuit Seeks Over $1 Billion in Damages

It would seem that someone has finally found the balls to sue Apple & AT&T over the draconian terms (we sell you a really cool expensive phone but still tell you what you can and cannot do with it.)
Maybe between this lawsuit and the one against T-Mobile in Germany (T-Mobile Bows to Pressure, Unlocks iPhone in Germany), Apple will get the hint.  If they keep down this road with trying to lock everyone into a ‘we control everything’ scenario; then when anyone comes out with a new phone with just half the features using the new Google Android SDK, there is going to be a huge sucking sound at the Apple store with everyone abandoning the iPhone!  Hint, Hint, Mr. Jobs….take note.

Go Paul & Lucy!! (The two people filing the lawsuit.)
